I am a Seattle born and raised multimedia designer, artist, information security professional, and lawyer. Currently, my work focuses on cybersecurity, privacy and human rights. I’m particularly interested in the application of surveillance and malware technologies upon dissidents, activists, and journalists with attention towards how policy, law and technology can be leveraged to protect their civil rights.
Since I was 13, I have been a hobbyist hacker. Now, I am a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
My parents took me out of school when I was 13. I have a GED (passed at 16 years old), an A.A. (Seattle Central Community College), a B.A. (University of Washington – graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa), a J.D.
